I had a great experience working with MES during my year in Lyon. The company's directors are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and responsive. They walked me through each step of the hiring process up until the end of my contract, helping me make sense of the complex French system. Furthermore, they provided plenty of training, feedback, and materials to plan lessons, and were exceptionally flexible and committed throughout, especially during the Covid-19 confinement in March. I would highly recommend either working for them.

I worked for MES whilst I was an Erasmus student in Lyon. Throughout the whole process Katy and her team were very professional whilst also making me feel welcome and comfortable within the work environment. I was given in-depth advice about how best to use the teaching packs and also how to deal with stressful situations should they occur. I felt very comfortable with my given family and felt that, if I needed anything, Katy & Charlotte were only a phone call or an email away. I would definitely recommend any English speakers looking for well-paid, flexible part time work in Lyon to apply!

I worked with My English Sister as an English tutor and it was a really enjoyable experience. Not only did I receive the necessary resources and support for teaching the children, but I also received helpful feedback which enabled my tutoring skills to improve. I would definitely recommend for students on a year abroad looking for work. Moreover, it seems the children really enjoyed the programme, as it was flexible, dynamic and allowed them to engage with the English language in an authentic way!

We have two principal objectives here at My English Sister.
The first is to help French children learn English. How do we do this effectively? It's partly due to our fun, interactive and structured teaching programme (TEK), but the majority of it is the work of our wonderful team of Brothers and Sisters.
The second is to enable young and motivated individuals to become successful educators. We provide the tools, training and environment for our brothers and sisters to gain formal teacher training and childcare experience. Our aim is to provide you with an opportunity that develops skills that will be invaluable to you later on in life, whether you pursue a career in education, or not.
When applying to MES you're not signing up to babysit or to simply help kids with their English homework, you are committing to becoming an educator and a role model responsible for shaping their future. Our team are called brothers and sisters as that's exactly what they become, an extended member of the family.
